Our Loch...

Some useful information on the facilities you can use...

Our loch is the main attraction and is used by many for:

  • Open Water Swimming

  • Stand Up Paddleboarding

  • Kayaking / Canoeing

  • Sailing

  • Wind Surfing

If you are an active family, have a passion for the outdoors and want a safe place to train or teach your children this is the ideal venue.

A full lap of the loch is around 750-800 meters.  The average depth is 1.5 meters with a maximum depth of 2m.  Temperatures can fluctuate through the season from early season lows of 10C to highs of 20C (if the sun has been shining for week or two!)

The loch is mainly used for open water swimming as there is a big Triathlon community locally with clubs like Fleet Feet Triathletes, TrYthan and Montrose Triathlon Club using the site regularly for training.

Members can also bring in their own equipment - Stand Up Paddleboards, Sailing, Kayaks are all acceptable along with the appropriate safety equipment.

Our Cycle Track...

Our 650 meter tarmac cycle track is used by local cycling clubs such as Deeside Thistle Cycle Club and triathlon clubs for training their youth members and adult training sessions.

It's a great way to introduce kids to leaning to ride their bike in a safe environment. Members are free to use the track and trails when they are available and not in use by one of the clubs.

Our Trails...

We have a variety of different graded trails suitable for walking, running and off-road cycling.

Around the site we have options on a couple of  orienteering routes, so if you fancy giving one of these routes as go,  just pick up a map in the café or site office.
